Stolen from both [livejournal.com profile] cerebel and [livejournal.com profile] weirdfromafar!

Give me a character from any fandom you know I am into and I will tell you:
a. My favourite thing about that character.
b. My least favourite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] rachel_1975 - a good way to hone all those things you used to know in grade school!

This was actually quite handy for a top secret project! Definitely my most inane goal yet for 2008.

Can't remember if I did this one before, but it's always fun for another go round! If you aren't sure about my fandoms, just feel free to ask in a comment!

Name a character from one of any of my fandoms and I'll give you:
(a) three facts about them from personal canon/fanon,
(b) a reason he/she sucks,
(c) a reason she/he is awesomecakes,
(d) five things that never happened to that character or
(e) five people that character never loved and why.

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] babel and [livejournal.com profile] laurus_nobilis:

Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about him/her from my own personal pseudo-canon

And I promise I'll have those last two character comment replies done. Very soon. But today, the book review, it is done. Ugh - I don't know what it is with my addled little brain, but writing is a complete and utter bitch these days. It's like my head is full of fluff and I can't find a coherent phrase (much less one well-turned) to save my life. And my typos and grammar mistakes!

Forgive my crankiness, but I just needed to vent.

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] laurus_nobilis - and most of you know my fandoms. If you're uncertain about one, just ask!

1. Comment in this post with a pairing, a character, or a threesome.

2. I shall write you back a paragraph explaining what I think about it (good, bad, indifferent) and why.

3. Let's discuss / argue / CAPSLOCK at each other about it! I only ask that you don't get insulted, angry, mean, or stupid.

Oh, this web site for the movie is utterly beautiful. The concept of the daemon is so intriguing (and so very Heraclitian!) - if you haven't read The Golden Compass you should add it to your summer reading list!

Today was a decadently relaxing day. Even though I woke up at 8, I managed to laze about in bed (where I tried to write a Caesar/Servilla drabble - maybe later, when my brain's a bit more recovered) until 11. I went out and did something that required no mental effort - window shopping, though I brought my copy of Rubicon to read at lunch. So far, I'm enjoying it immensely, and I've just gotten to the part where a certain young orator comes into the scene.

But now for the memage answers! If you want me to ask about 3 interests and icons, just say so in a comment!

[livejournal.com profile] otterboy, I blame you. :)

If only I could have put a white ensign on the ship instead of the pirate insignia, but it's okay. :)

Yeah, I should be working on my paper, but breaks are good. Besides, this is waaaaay too much fun. Heee!

[livejournal.com profile] grace_poppy found a fabulous Web site, Celebmatch. So I decided to see which of my objects of lust celebrity crushes were compatible with me.

Ioan Gruffudd: 85% physical compatability (whooo!), 94% emotional compatability (awwww), 15% intellectual compatibility (huh?) - So, we wouldn't have deep, meaningful conversations, but that's okay1 Total compatability = 65%

David Tennant - 33% physical, 94% emotional, 93% intellectual. I am so a companion! All we'd do is hold hands, but it would be totally cool and geeky. Total compatability =74%

Matthew McFayden - 85% physical, 11% emotional, 89% physical. So, it would kind of be a Darcy-ish dynamic going on, but I could handle that. Total compatability = 62%

Alan Rickman - 85% physical, 78% emotional, 65% intellectual. You think the intellectual compatability would be higher - I can totally bring on the snark! Total compatability = 76%

Ahh, now back to work - maybe.

*stretches* Spent almost 5 hours of good work in the library today (not counting computer breaks and things) working on research for one of my papers, going through the papers of Alexander Hamilton. I have to say, it was far more enjoyable than you think it would be! Tomorrow I'm just going to start on the naval documents of the American Revolution, and try to have all my primary sources done so I can, oh, start writing the paper soon. ;)

But as a nice way to take a break, besides watching Azumanga Daioh, I decided to do this fandom meme, taken from [livejournal.com profile] laurus_nobilis, and chose six fandoms, answering questions below the cut.

1. Dr. Who
2. Richard Jury mystery series
3. Horatio Hornblower
4. Stargate: SG-1
5. Star Trek
6. Cardcaptor Sakura

Ask me a question... )

It's a little too nuts here to even think of going out, but since we already had our Halloween fun on Saturday, that's okay. Here's an addictively fun meme instead, stolen from [livejournal.com profile] butterflydrming

You went trick or treating as TheBobbseyTwins.
ThePlymouthColony gave you TheRedBalloon.
Jack gave you AGoldenKey.
HomerSimpson gave you AUsedBattery.
Othello gave you AMaltedMilkBall.
You had a miraculous time until JackAubrey left you to the Kraken.

A thread on the most recent and utterly insanse Fandon Wank HP post (those people are crazy like no one else) was all about fictional spouses. Being greedy, I snagged the Tenth Doctor and Captain Wentworth. So if you could snag any fictional spouse, or heck, a whole set of them, who would you take and why?

For my own haremspouses, here's my list:

The Tenth Doctor - Life would never be boring and the Dear knows he could use some company. Though ultimately, I don't see him as the marrying type - alas.
Captain Wentworth - He looks good in a peacoat! He's faithful and dashing and patient and..*swoons herself*..and yes, very good potential husband.
Mr. Darcy - If any woman of reasonable intelligence and moderate wit imagines herself as Elizabeth Bennett, then Mr. Darcy is going to be high on your list of ideal partners.
Melrose Plant - He's witty! He's handsome! He would do the crossword with you on a lazy Sunday and be nice abouit finishing way before you.
Any of the men from SG/SGA - Yeah. Nuff said. Because you can't choose one.

Your Life: The Soundtrack
1. Open your music player (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, etc).
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question press the next button.

[livejournal.com profile] ainsley, you seriously need to do this once your week of Doom is over! I'd be curious to see what your soundtrack was. I'd also be curious to see what people would pick for their own soundtracks.
