Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] babel and [livejournal.com profile] laurus_nobilis:

Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about him/her from my own personal pseudo-canon

And I promise I'll have those last two character comment replies done. Very soon. But today, the book review, it is done. Ugh - I don't know what it is with my addled little brain, but writing is a complete and utter bitch these days. It's like my head is full of fluff and I can't find a coherent phrase (much less one well-turned) to save my life. And my typos and grammar mistakes!

Forgive my crankiness, but I just needed to vent.

Peeked at your profile to see your fandoms. I didn't know you liked Atlantis too! So I'll name: Rodney McKay

I really got into Atlantis this year - the writers got into a good vibe, in a good, consistent sort of way. And Rodney is my favorite character - I have a weakness for snarky men. Imagine that! (Your Rodney icon is all kinds of adorable, too!)

1) After a thorough grilling on his musical tastes, John once told him that he 'failed at being a Canadian.' Rodney resented this far more than he let on.

2) Rodney could easily trounce the rest of the science department in any type of trivia game, but for his first few years on Atlantis, he was never invited to join in. One night, he passed by the lab while a rousing game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit was going on, and he watched it with a sad sort of longing.

3) 'Sam' came back in a vision after 'Echoes' to thank Rodney - after Rodney sweetly, albeit awkwardly, accepted her gratitude, the gender issue came up mid-embrace, 'Sam' changed into 'John.' Rodney still isn't sure quite how he felt about *that* kiss...

Love this! Great job. I like your Rodney.

1) Well, unless Rodney's musical tastes didn't include Rush and the Hip and DID include Loverboy, I can't see how he failed at being Canadian. ;)

2) So sad. I'd take him in regular TP, but I'm sure he'd beat me good.

3) You'd think he'd be fine with it after kissing Carson....

All of these are plot bunnies for Nakuru-centered stories - maybe one day I'll actually write them!

1) Nakuru, after leaving Japan, established a close long-distance friendship with both Yukito and Touya - and has offered Touya some very candid advice on how to keep his moon guardian happy.

2) After saving Spinel's life (and the universe as we know it), Nakuru found a closeness with her brother she never fully had before. He still annoys her, and she still baits him, but she loves him with a fierceness that still surprises her.

3) Nakuru will meet her special someone over a volume of Tolkien. :)

Inspired by your icon: Giles!

Gah, I really haven't thought about Giles in a personal canon sense! Could I switch and do, say, Melrose instead?

Oh, I suppose. ;)

Of course, you can!

1) In one of my many Rome!multiverses, Brutus used one of Plato's dialogues not so much to seduce Cicero but to convince him that sex wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

2) When he learned of his uncle Cato's suicide, he wanted to drink himself into a drunken stupor, but out of respect for his uncle's memories and devotion to Stoicism, he drank nothing.

3) Even on the plains of Philippi, just before he died, he still didn't regret not killing Antony when they killed Caesar - there would have been no honor in it, no matter what Cassius said.

Ianto Jones. Please.

1) Ianto would only read in Welsh to Lisa when she had sufficiently cajoled and begged him to do so. At Torchwood One he was always aware of being an outsider, and speaking in Welsh reminded him of this separation.

2) Ianto and Jack's relationship didn't begin until after the events of 'Countrycide.' Ianto, trying to convince Jack he could go home and take care of himself, all but broke down in the Hub. Though it began as an act of comfort, by the time of the stopwatch, their relationship was more one of equals. (I don't know if this is so much a personal canon or a individual interpretation of canon)

3) Tosh overheard Ianto's lovely voice idly monitoring him in he archives. While it took three drinks to get him to actually sing karaoke the first time, it took much less each time after. However, it did take four drinks to get him to sing Celine.

Thank you for this. I think you could be right with the timing and nature of Jack and Ianto getting together; the stopwatch thing can't be a first time proposition.

As to number three - how many drinks does it take to get him to sing 'I don't feel like dancing'?
