A wonderful holiday meme taken from
aeveir, that I'd really love to do for you, my f-list!
If you're on my f-list (or if we know each other from somewhere regardless of your status in my LJ) and if you would like to get a holiday card from me in December, then please go ahead and simply say so.
All comments will be screened so only I can read them - send me your address and what kind of card (Christmas, Hannukah, Solstice, etc.) you would like - I'm from Colorado so we have some pretty cards with aspens and mountains and such! This sounds like just the impetus to send cards to people and brighten up their December - because there's nothing like getting an actual card in the mail.
Hope all of you in the States have a Happy Thanksgiving - my plans fell through and I'm feeling somewhat low about it. The smell of someone burning pinon caught me unaware on my way home. But a friend at work insisted I come over to their house for dinner so that should be fun, and hopefully, other friends and I will be seeing Goblet of Fire this weekend. And there's sales on Friday, which I may brave to snag a few gifts, and there is always NaNo.
Or there's always postponing NaNo to read more Aubrey/Maturin. I ploughed through Desolation Island in two days and now I'm almost 3/4 of the way through The Fortunes of War, which has the infamous weevil comment - at which I still laughed like an idiot, in a crowded pub no less! And the next books is waiting faithfully for when I finish.
