As usual, today's thoughts on Stargate, which finally give me a reason to use my cute Daniel icon! Thoughts below the cut. Otherwise, we went down to Santa Monica today and shopped - I went to Sephora and got some pretty new makeup, and oogled quite a few products that were pretty but expensive. And even though I may be more girly now, I'm still a geek at heart.
Stargate SG-1:
This really did seem like an X-Files Monster of the Week episode. I wasn't all too impressed, and not just because of the lack of Daniel. The Landry/Mitchell interactions were pretty lackluster, and I think that's because I really don't care much for Landry. Vala/Teal'c/Carter really saved the episode - Vala is the equivalent of Spike, in a way. She makes every scene she's in better. Her and Sam bickering, flirting with Teal'c, her lines while hunting the beast - just priceless. And the poker scene at the end? Yay! And I may be alone on this, but I think Sam and Teal'c have some romantic potential. That look Teal'c gives her when she folds? Smoldering! For a Jaffa.
Next week: 200! Wizard of Oz (with Daniel as an adorable Cowardly Lion) and Star Trek! And Jack!
Stargate Atlantis:
Oh, as a McKay fan, I loved this ep. He stole the episode with all his little scenes, and all his sweet ways of caring for John and Elizabeth. Throw in some implied Rodney whumping, and I was a happy girl. But besides that, this really did clear up some Replicator-issues (like why the Ancients had specs for a weapon that could defeat human form replicators), as well as further establish that even before they ascended, the Ancients weren't all good and perfect. Though there were some definite Fifth hints in there, I liked how he didn't consciously betray them. Definetly looking forward to the Pegasus Replicators in the future!
Next week: Oy, does *everyone* do the insane asylum episode?

Date: 2006-08-12 03:01 pm (UTC)did you ever see the "behind the gate" special that was filmed when sg-1 was producing the last few eps of season 8 & sga was producing the end of season 1? because the interviewer asks amanda tapping about what's going on with sam and teal'c... it's really amusing. he asked if jack has something to worry about and amanda was just like, "well, if jack doesn't step up to the plate...". definitely made me laugh.
now that you point it out and i think about it again, rodney did get a surprising amount of development in only a few lines/actions. huh. go sga writers! i too am looking forward to more atlantis replicators.
