1. The first character I first fell in love with - Yukito. He's just so adorably sweet.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Nakuru. I didn't care for her at first but she's the character I love to write most now.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't - There's characters I don't think of too much but none I don't like.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates - Manga!Kaho - and by everyone I mean mostly the E/T people. Cygna_hime, we're of two minds...
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer - I've drifted away from Yukito and Touya as I've concentrated more on the England Quartet, but I still love them
6. The character I would shag anytime - Um, my answer is a little embarassing, so no comment.;)
7. The character I'd want to be like - Tomoyo. It's one thing to say you can be happy if someone else is happy, it's another thing entirely to actually live it.
8. The character I'd slap - Anime!Kaho. She just annoys me.
9. A pairing that I love - Eriol/Kaho. Surprised much, anyone?
10. A pairing that I despise - I don't despire it, but Sakura/Syaoran doesn't inspire me as much as other pairings do.

1. The first character I first fell in love with - One of the younger dwarves in the Hobbit, to be technical! In LotR, it was Frodo.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Pippin! Adored him and Merry on my second reading, cause I skimmed over them my first time.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't - Movie!Legolas.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates - Honestly, no answer for this one!
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer - Despite the icon, Arwen - on second reading of the book, the Eowyn-love hit.
6. The character I would shag anytime - Faramir. Especially if he brought me a blue-cloak lined with stars. *sigh*
7. The character I'd want to be like - Luthien, especially when she takes on Melkor. Wow.
8. The character I'd slap - Sauruman, but the Ents beat me to it.

In honor of my new community membership, the fandom I pick is the Richard Jury series! Go!

I need to watch the Hornblower movies. I watched the first one, but just wasn't in the mood for it at the time and never got around to the rest. Someday, I plan to fix this.

And I think I'm going to steal this meme. Me gusta.

The first 6 Hornblower movies are excellent. I don't like the last two nearly as much, butstill, it was the Ioan Gruffudd prettiness. Mmmmm. But onward to memage!



1. The first character I first fell in love with - Melrose. The eyes, the smile, the snark.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Wiggins. I just have a big soft spot for him after The Horse You Came In On
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't - Some of the kids are just a mite precocious for my sake.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates - Nicholas Gray. Oh, the backstory!
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer - Alas, my admiration for Vivian wore off by the time The Lamorna Wink came out.
6. The character I would shag anytime - Melrose!
7. The character I'd want to be like - Carole Anne. She is this big bundle of helpfulness, even if her intentions can go astray.
8. The character I'd slap - Jury, when he starts acting all stalker-y. The beginning of The Stargazey seriously creeped me out!
9. A pairing that I love - Melrose and Bea Slocum, who has disappeared for the last few books! She *painted* him, for goodness sakes!
10. A pairing that I despise - After Bea was introduced, I dropped my Vivian/Melrose banner, though I don't 'despise' them. Though 'The List' of Melrose's that Jury found was utterly hilarious.

I was never really sold on the Melrose/Bea thing. But Vivian just infuriates me, with her complete lack of shoving Melrose up against a wall and having her way with him (that's what I'D do) or otherwise having a spine, so I dunno.

I'm probably just jealous.

And what book is "The List" in? I don't remember that! (Oh, it's been ever so long...)

Even though it was somewhat fleeting, I liked Melrose and Bea's relationship. The Cripps(sp) would have been his inlaws if they had gotten married! But yes, I've wanted to slap Vivian and Polly and all the other women whohave snubbed Melrose.

You know, it's been a while since I've read the books, but I'd guess around The Case has Altered/The Lamorna Wink.

Well, as I plan to work my way through the series this year (might take longer, as there will be twenty of them, and I want to read other books as well), I'll find it eventually.

Didn't the Bea/Melrose thing just disappear? They were all with the sex and the painting the half-hearted proposals, and then I think in one book Melrose had like one thought about her, and then we never saw her again. What happened?!

Meh, yes, Melrose/Bea did just dissapear, with no explanation at all. There were a few dates, steak and fries in bed, sex, painting, and then there was absolutely nothing post Lamorna Wink It wouldn't have dissapointed me as much if it had been given some closure.

I'd love to see another Melrose-centric story - I loved the build-up to the revalation in the Lamorna Wink and the layers it added to his character. Melrose's backstory has such a quiet tragedy to it, which makes me love it all the more.
