My Nana and I just watched 'The Sound of Music' - believe it or not, this was her first time watching it! This is one of the musicals that I can watch over and over and over again - the songs are enchanting, the scenery is beautiful, and Christopher Plummer makes my knees turn to jello. Captain Von Trapp, you can (insert naughty nautical metaphor here) me anytime.

Though I notice a few new things on each viewing. Like this time:

1. I can understand the Von Trapp brood all having perfect pitch, but all of the guests at the grand ball? I mean, were the greeters at the door pulling the guests aside and making them sing a B-flat major scale before they could come in? This process would also explain the majority of the screw of the HMS Surprise and the Russian sub in The Hunt For Red October.

2. When Maria comes back after running away to the nunnery, it's supposedly to close up whatever's between her and the Captain, but she brings the infamous blue dress and totally flaunts it in front of the good Captain. Pretty damn Machiavellian, if you ask me.

Also, thanks to a lack of frozen limade at the Asian supermarket, we made kalamansi margaritas, which turned out pretty damn tasty. Then again, Cazadores tequila makes a lot of things pretty damn tasty.
