Date: 2004-11-17 09:49 pm (UTC)We both love the thought of you going to Minnesota, as it will a) make it easier to visit, b) give us an excuse to spend time in Minneapolis (dontcha know Minnesota's part of the Promised Land?), and c) make it possible for you to spend Thanksgiving with us in WI (also part of the PL) maybe?

Date: 2004-11-19 10:41 pm (UTC)Oh dear God, I do that *all the time.* Somehow, I, California-born, managed to end up with a serious case of "Minnesota nice" before I even moved there! Once I am there it'll be completely hopeless...

Date: 2004-11-20 04:59 am (UTC)Both hands on steering wheel in a relaxed posture, eyes constantly checking the rear-view mirror to watch for visible emissions from their own or another's car: Colorado (so very much me even now).
To find copies of this particular list, google colorado resident spotting car with texas plate.
And on a list of "you might be from Colorado if...", the following so fits me: You go anywhere else on the planet and the air feels "sticky" and you notice the sky is no longer blue (says the one who just last week commented on how wonderful the weather was because the sky was blue). Most of the others were, well, they talked about different subgroups within the group of Coloradans, most of which were not me - though, I must say, north does mean "mountains to the left" and south "mountains to the right" (but east is Kansas and west is Mormons, and I feel sick after 3 days of clouds, not depressed after 1 of fog).
But yes, you do strike me as one who would fit in quite well with a bunch of Scandahoovian Lutherans.
