dyed my hair red today..

..and had the worst dental visit ever.

Not that I've had many, which is why these deep cleanings are so horrendous. But stress evidently pushed my threshold down to nada, and so even after being numbed to the gills, I could feel every little scrape and vibration of the ultrasonic planer. And it hurt. So much. Halfway through the tortutre I ended up crying in the chair, just unable to to take anything else.

Mental note: Do *not* go to the dentist when under duress.

But after a five minute chat in which I pretty much blurted out a short synopsis of my various issues, I felt better, and managed through the remainder of the cleaning. And I got a big freaking frosty for dinner. My student knew I couldn't handle the bottom half today, so I go back in two weeks for that.

Only two more days to convention! Wai! Looking for a black pleated skirt tomorrow - so happy that I can bear the sight of my legs now, whch finally have some shape. Need more, but I'll take what I've earned. I'm cosplaying as Youko, albiet with not so red hair - basically because she's the only short-haired Seijuu female student who has a name. So nice to rehash my Yukito costume from last year - and not to have to spray paint my hair silver. But in a day and a half my onii-chan will be here and we'll have a very-much-needed weekend with a close friend. That's reason enough to make me smile, red hair or not.

Yay! A gold star and a piece o' pocky for butterflydreaming. I tried the complete costume on today and Saturday is going to be fun! Next year i may shell out for a decent wig and go as Nakuru. Sadly, last year when I went as Yukito noone recognized me. Not even one of the three Sakuras. So this year it's just for fun - and wearing a short twirly skirt.
