..but I believe I'm worth coming home to
Mar. 28th, 2005 10:49 pmMy sister's visit is nearly at a close and while it was nice to see her I'm glad it's almost done. My personality tends to spontaneously infuriate her at times - that and my utter ineptitude at giving directions - and so parts of the last few days have been a little trying. Right now, I'm physically wiped out - and a little frayed emotionally.
However, we did get up to Boulder, where I'm planning to move to this fall, which was nice. I forget how much I like it up there, and now I have even more reason to like it - they opened a Lush store, which
butterflydrming introduced me to with a wonderful little gift. I picked up a relaxing little vegan milk bath bar and one of their exquisite bath bombs, a Sex Bomb to be exact. And I bought it because it smells like roses. Really.
Speaking of the enigmtic subject line and my current music, if you haven't heard the track off Tori's new album, do so. It's a really good song and I'd love to ruminate on it some more, that is, when I'm a little more than half awake. And given how insane this week at work will be, we'll just have to see about that.

Date: 2005-03-29 08:37 am (UTC)There are stories in every song on Beekeeper. (Reading Beekeeper's Apprentice right now, too. It's a strange association.) I think I'm going to turn "Ribbons Undone" into a Sakura story for her birthday.

Many of Tori's song strike me but that line does so more than usual. Perhaps because at some point I'd like someone to think I was worth coming home to, too.
*wrinkles nose* Longer, more introspective response would be here, but I'm at work. Meh.

Date: 2005-03-29 09:29 am (UTC)We will definitely have to come visit you in Boulder. While it's still quite a ways away from here, it would be good to show Otter parts of Colorado that he hasn't been able to see when we've visited my parents (and in particular, my dad). Boulder is definitely one place we need to go, and without my dad, as we'd probably end up spending time looking at the football field and miss out on Pearl St.

And when you come, we'll definetly be doing more Pearl Streeting and less Folsom Fielding, that's for certain.
