Vote early, vote often, vote for, well, do you really need me to tell you? ;)

Though while I thoroughly approve of Tobias on there as William Elliot, Ciaran Hinds is still my Captain Wentworth. Rupert is just too young and much too pale - I mean, unless his surgeon was packing sunblock.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] jhd91, for the link!

What a great link. I should vote for Darcy, but have a soft spot for Tom; I wonder why? ;D

Not until I looked at who played him did I realize why you had the soft spot! He looks so lovely in period pieces, doesn't he?

Mansfield Park is on my list for 'Summer of Austen '08' and once I read it I'll have to watch that version!

I'll know "Tom Pullings" anywhere. *g* A friend of mine watched Mansfield Park when it was on the Beeb recently and recommended it to me. So it cannot have been too bad.

Heh! Thanks for that link. I went with the very predictable majority opinion and voted for a certain Fitzwilliam...

I don't have an Austen icon! Well, this one is from Persuasion...

*grins* I'm just glad to see Captain Wentworth came in second - beating Darcy would be all but impossible.

Voting Wentworth... predictably.

I've never seen him played by Ciaran Hinds, though... >.>

I have thrown in a vote for Wentworth, though honestly, I have no idea who *else* voted for Mr. Collins - my vote was strictly for the actor playing him, though on a scale of heinousness, Wickham may be prettier in that particular film, but what he did was much worse.

But find the version with Ciaran Hinds! Very subtle, very well done, and excellent all around.

I'm glad you approve of Tobias, considering he's my vote. I totally would have voted for Ciaran if his version of Persuasion been shown.

And now I'm wanting ANOTHER remake with Ciaran and Tobias together!

Oh, I wholeheartedly approve of Tobias! But yes, Ciaran!Wentworth would have been vote-worthy, too.

Oh, that would be absolutely lovely, Ciaran and Tobias together again in a fan-cast Persuasion! I really want to see David and Tobias in another movie/television program/play together - there was just such good chemistry in Rome all around.

Hee. That was fun.

How do you like Rupert Penry-Jones for Melrose? Is he too pretty? I've been debating this in my head for the last few days.

Oh, he would be a perfect young Melrose! I mean, he is pretty, but Melrose isn't exactly a Yeti. It's finding a nicely handsome, blond 40-something old man that's the trick...

Well, by the time someone actually realizes how fun these books would be as movies and gets around to to optioning them and writing the screenplay, he'll be perfect!

But ooh, your icon reminded me of the niceness that is David Wenham, and I had to go Google him, and of course I found more gorgeous pictures of him, which means I'm likely to have more David!Melrose icons soon. *sigh*

(Also, I feel like I haven't "talked" to you in ages! I should write you a proper email. In fact, I should go do that right now.)

... but I'd have to choose between Darcy and Brandon! D:

*feels torn*

There are some tough choices! Darcy and Wentworth are my ideal Austen men, though Wentworth probably wins by just a little bit - he has the whole navy thing going on! I'm a bit curious to see if the new Sense and Sensibility measures up to the old one!

*whispers* You can just vote twice!
