I hate moving, I really do. And while most of the big things are done, I'll really have to make sure all the 'little things,' the annoying little loose ends, get tied up the next few nights. It would be nice if Saturday could be mostly relaxing! During the course of my packing, though, I keep finding half-filled notebooks and tablets with various stories, and so I'm going to try and post them as I find them. While I'm looking for non-fast-food employment at home I'm planning on typing up all the story bits, in addition to finishing up some long overdue works in progress.

This weekend, despite the upcoming move, I went down to visit [livejournal.com profile] wanderingfool. It was a great visit, as always, and included a good deal of geeking out. Fo example, at least five games of Trivial Pursuit, in which we decided some of the answers were just wrong, going to see X-Men 3 and with his friend E, going into an in-depth discussion of the movie canon versus the various other canons, and quite a bit of maritime chat. At one point, I was explaining the line of battle at Trafalgar and actually said "if I had my Trafalgar shirt, this would be so much easier." We also took a virtual trip to Portsmouth, courtesy of Google Earth. That program is addictive! I've just been putzing around, from Sacramento to London to the Galapagos.

Okay, should really be getting to bed now - even if taking a jaunt up into virtual Canada sounds much more fun.

oh the wonders of geeking out. i love that you have a trafalgar shirt too. that's simply amazing.

i put google earth on my laptop one night while working on my biology lab but i had to uninstall it later that night because not only did it make my computer slower, it also distracted me way too much. i already have enough ways to distract myself.

good luck with the moving!

I've played with Google Earth a teensy bit, but the idea of getting to stare at the Galapagos Islands is terribly tempting. Mmm...giant tortoises...I so want one of those as a pet.

I looove Google Earth. I go to Portsmouth all of the time.

And, whilst there, I picture Maturin with me every delicious step of the way.
