Outrage of the day

Browsing through Daily Kos this morning, as is my habit, I came across this diary. A church - a Southern Baptist church, admittingly - excommunicating its Democratic members if they wouldn't 'repent of the sin' of not voting for Dear Leader.

I don't think I'll be able to read The Handmaid's Tale for a while, because things are just starting to hit pretty close to home.

Meh. More cheerful updates to come later in the day, with the possibility of a cute geek chick shirt alert and progress on a challenge story for tsukimineshrine.

I've already had times when watching episodes of DS9 (such as the one where Sisko ends up taking Gabriel Bell's place for the Bell Riots) was difficult, and Surfacing was bad enough...no way I'm doing so much as looking at the cover of Handmaid's Tale for some time.
