E-mailed the program at UMN today, asking when we might find out about admissions and such, and this was the response:

Dear Ms Ayhens,
You will receive a letter from us shortly. I apologize for the delay.

Elizabeth Belfiore

Dear Whatever-Benevolent-Spirit-In-The-Universe-Is-Out-There, please let it be a good letter. Maybe it's just my raging paranoia, but it sounds like it'll be bad. I only told one of you this, but by misreading the deadline (it was wrong on the paper application) I missed the deadline by several weeks. When I e-mailed to see if I was still a candidate, they said if I hadn't gotten a rejection letter, I was still in the running. So what if the letter is of the 'Oh, we're sorry you're a dumb ass who can't figure out the deadline - better luck next year" sort?

Up until this morning, I was flitting between anxiety and despair. Right now, however, I'm just terrified.

Just tell yourself they're scrambling to find money for you... it's probably what's really going on...
