..at least I managed one good turn today.
After a rather disasterous first try three weeks ago (amazingly, when blood goes somewhere in your body it shouldn't go, like into your skin and muscle instead of your vein, it hurts like hell) I tried donating platelets again today. And it worked! I have a high platelet count (which tends to be the norm up at altitude) and so it was fast (an hour versus two) and except for the tingly needle bit at the beginning, which happens with whole blood, too, it didn't hurt. I got to even watch a bit of Pleasantville while I gave. So pretty much every two weeks I'll be giving as that's the most I can do.
Came home and listened to Prairie Home Companion, which put me in a good mood for a bit. Tried to write up this long-overdue cathartic piece of writing related to my new icon but it just petered out. The icon still stays, however.
Anyway, as my brain is *not* going to let me do anything productive tonight - right now it's in anxious/fluttery mode rather then curl up and stare at the wall mode, I may just finish watching Pleasantville, as we have it on DVD.
