A well-needed rest
Apr. 2nd, 2004 04:01 pmAnother week over. Yay. I think. After a reasonable day yesterday it's back to the mood swings from hell - wanting to cry for no logical reason (unless there's a logical reason), then a quiet elation after walking past my favorite flowering trees on my way to buy challah, and then back to the irrational sadness in the afternoon.
Grrr. And sigh.
Tonight we're doing a small Shabbat at home - a precursor to the Seder on Monday which I really hope goes well. As last Saturday's pre-Passover event at Temple Micah really lifted my spirits, I'm hoping tonight will do the same. Right now I want to do nothing more than sing the blessings over the candles and draw those brave little flickering lights into my soul to make the darkness not so overwhelming. I'm not sure what it is about the Jewish services that touches me so much - it appeals to my Episcopalian liturgical sensibility, certainly - but right now I'm thankful for them. And so in the spirit of Shabbat, tomorrow is no work - even on the computer. Sundown will come soon enough, and I'm sure I'll find an hour or two to kill online then, but right now a rest seems most welcome. And hopefully some recuperation will come of it.
