So, at least one of these recent comment ficlets got a little too long. Here's a post to gather them all up. Right now, I'm hoping to finish the last three by Tuesday - they're coming, I promise!

"Toya-kuuuuuuuuuun! Wait for me!"

"Akizuki-san!" Her name came out as strangled gasp of syllables, as Touya clawed her arms away from his neck. He knew nothing he could say could keep her from trying to glomp him again, so he settled for his coolest stare.

Evidently, that didn't work either.

"Don't you want to start on our assignment? We're going to be the best married couple in the class!"

A gaggle of girls passing at that moment all but hissed at Nakuru; a group of boys behind them gave Touya sympathetic, almost pitying looks.

Best to bite the bullet and get it over with.

***

"We're home!!" Nakuru's voice echoed through the seemingly empty house. Touya glared at her as he slid off his shoes - he was home. She most certainly was not.

"Oy, monster, where are you?" Sakura didn't have anything after school today - Touya knew her schedule better than he did her own. If she was out...

"Don't be so mean, Toya-kun! She's adorable!" Nakuru found her way into the kitchen; she was more like Yukito than he first suspected.

"Fine, she's an adorable monster. Why are you taking all that out?" Touya watched Nakuru take out the butter, milk, and eggs before she moved to the pantry.

"We'll make her a cake!" Nakuru held out the flour tin, all but beaming, and for a moment Touya's suspicion softened. "Baking together is so romantic.."

Only for that moment.

***

"You're so good at decorating! But giant footprints?"

"She'll get it." Touya rubbed at his nose, feeling the smear of icing on his skin, but before Nakuru could make a move on it (and him), the doorbell rang. "Speaking of the monster.."

He felt it before he even opened the door, and even though Touya wasn't surprised to see Tomoyo all but holding his half-conscious little sister upright, his heart still leaped into his throat.

"She went over to my house to try on costumes and I must have tired her out! I'm so sorry..." Tomoyo was half bowing as she handed Sakura into her brother's waiting arms. So sweet and caring, and a fairly good liar, Touya mused. Sakura blinked sleepily, and Touya's heart slowly began the way back to its normal position.

"It's going to be all right."

Touya whirled around at the sound of Nakuru's voice, which sounded so eerily like Kaho's he half expected to see her instead. Nakuru's smile even matched hers, serene and reassuring.

"Touya-kun, why don't you make Sakura-chan comfortable on the couch. Tomoyo-chan, we just made a cake - if Sakura-chan has that and some hot tea she'll start feeling much better, won't she?"

Tomoyo nodded with a desperate gratitude, and Touya watched Nakuru's retreated form with a look of utter confusion before he remembered his half-sleeping burden. Since when had Nakuru been so level headed?

Since when had Nakuru been so kind?

***

"I feel much better now! The cake you and onii-chan made was delicious!" Sakura's cheeks were as pink as the icing, and though she still looked tired, it didn't seem as if she would fall asleep in the middle of a bite.

"Your brother is a very good cook - and a very good brother." Nakuru took a bite of her cake and winked. "Mostly."

Touya rolled his eyes, but felt his ears burn at Nakuru's words. She had been nothing but kindness to his sister since she came home; could she really be involved in the strange events that were obviously the cause of Sakura's sleepiness?

Sakura yawned, trying to cover her mouth with her fist. Touya scooped away her plate, even as she began to apologize for being so tired.

"It's going to be okay, Sakura-chan." Nakuru's hand reached out and squeezed Sakura's, and Touya could see the silver magic that rippled between their fingers. "You have so much energy - you won't be sleepy for long!"

Sakura blushed furiously, but it was nothing compared to the brilliant flare in her aura. She was bright as a star, and in her light-

In that light, Nakuru glowed, iridescent as a pearl, and Touya's heart leaped into his throat for a reason that had nothing to do with fear.

***

"Are you sure you don't want some cake? Sakura really doesn't need all of it-"

"Oh, I'm sure it'll all be gone tomorrow," Nakuru said, her eyes twinkling. "Besides, I'm sure there's cake at home!"

Touya, standing on the doorstep, rubbed at the back of his head. The sky was a brilliant shade of lavender, and Nakuru still glowed with a beautiful silver light. "I just - I - thanks for helping my sister. I don't know how, exactly, but thanks."

Nakuru's hug nearly knocked him back into the house, but he didn't pull away, and she nuzzled into his neck. She smelled like jasmine and buttercream.

"She's going to be fine, but I know you'll still worry." Nakuru turned her head, her smile just as radiant as the rest of her. "You'll be a good husband."

Maybe it was that glow, that pull, that made Touya pull her into a kiss. For a moment, it felt as if his feet were hovering off the ground - he wouldn't be surprised if he opened his eyes to find them both floating. But he didn't want to open his eyes, not just yet. When he did, Nakuru was gazing at him, brown eyes flecked with flecks of auburn fire, in wondrous adoration.

"And you're a pretty good wife."

It was a bit choppy at certain parts, but at the end I was humming happy a happy tune. Thank you for the story; it couldn't have been easy, I'm sure.

*chuckles* I'm glad you enjoyed it - I'm a bit out of practice in certain parts and I honestly admit comment fics aren't exactly my best work - they're just fun to do for people and a good way to kick the muse.

That was very, very sweet. I adore Touya-Nakuru interaction and I enjoyed their little "family" setting you created. Definitely brought a smile to my face!
