I was reading a book of his political speeches, and it mentioned something completely inapprorpiate he said while in Pompey's camp. Someone reported they only had eight eagles left, and everyone thought this would be fine. Except for Cicero, who sardonically commented that would be great if they were fighting jackdaws. I just love snarky Cicero, and I'm glad that line showed it!

I'm so glad you liked it! I'm still amazed it came out as well as it did. But this story made the most inappropriate things pop into my head at the worse possible times.
