Oh My God, I adore Midshipmen! They are so much love, even the American ones. I found this in my research for a paper on the officer corps of the U.S. Navy, and I had to share, it was so damn cute. Emphasis is the author's.

That's so sweet. Like the letters that get quoted in the books on Trafalgar. I can just imagine William Reade writing this.

I haven't read any of the letters from the Trafalgar mids - I'd just get too misty-eyed. I'm not a very objective historian!

In the rest of the volumes, I kept on checking in on Mr. Allen, to make sure "my mid" wasn't killed. I get so sidetracked when I research..
