Dr. Albert, meet Lord Nelson
Mar. 18th, 2006 05:28 pmTwo years ago, I dated a geocacher. I'd really like to get back into it, as it was a lot of fun (especially here in Colorado). There are these wonderful little things called Travel Bugs, and we started a little Albert Einstein action figure on his merry way, with his goal to get to Princeton, and then Europe.
Our relationship didn't last long but our Travel Bug lives on. He was picked up by Minnesotans and brought north, then trecked to Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. He got to New Jersey but before he made it to Princeton he was taken to New York state, where he stayed for quite a while, teaching other Travel Bugs he met along the way. And in New York he found passage to Berlin, which utterly thrilled me. He stayed in Berlin for a while, visiting one of his old houses. Someone decided he needed a warmer climate and moved him to the Canary Islands. Just today, I realized which of the Canary Islands he was on - Tenerife, where Nelson lost his arm.
Small world, for such a small traveller.
