Icons - Cicero Quotes and 'Rome'

To be fair, I did do some studying tonight, but then I found a page of quotes from Cicero, after I was going through the book I got from Christmas from [livejournal.com profile] mayara13 and [livejournal.com profile] otterboy . Then I got just a little sidetracked. Well, maybe not a little. :) All icons totally gankable - I tried to pick quotes people might actually like - I have a feeling one or two sentiments will ring very true with everyone. Screencaps from Totally Addicted and Kanal 5

The friend one is an amazing quote. I'm floored by how true it is.

Oh my goodness... you were talking about the older Mr. Collins! O_O Well, that certainly rids me of some of my lingering confusion...

So much love for you Sam and Vala icon! M and I loved that scene. :)

Oh, Cicero has some wonderful sentiments on friendship - I will make sure to post more in nice, legible print.

*grins* I was watching the show and I was like - "He looks familiar! Oh, wait, it's Mr. Collins!" But David Bamber is truly wonderful in the role.

O Times, O Morals is always a favourite. ;D Though IMO the one about the books cannot be beaten.

Cicero is so quotable - I think he intended it! But that book quote, and "If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need" is also lovely.

Prettiness! I think the Cicero icon you're currently using is the best. I also like the leaves, though. :)

Thank you! And I love the leaf brush - there's another one with different shaped leaves that I must use for something. :)

Here via mylodon's page...

If you're a fan of Cicero, have you read the new Robert Harris book, Imperium? It's fantastic, and actually makes Cicero quite likable, which I would have previously sworn was impossible after surviving 10th grade Latin.

Ohhhh! I just read the synopsis on Amazon and I *must* read this novel! Thank you so very much for recommending it. :)
