seeking the need to be fannish

Can't remember if I did this one before, but it's always fun for another go round! If you aren't sure about my fandoms, just feel free to ask in a comment!

Name a character from one of any of my fandoms and I'll give you:
(a) three facts about them from personal canon/fanon,
(b) a reason he/she sucks,
(c) a reason she/he is awesomecakes,
(d) five things that never happened to that character or
(e) five people that character never loved and why.

Of course I have to pick Atia. :D

a) The rift between her and Octavia was only healed after Antony abandoned them both for Cleopatra; She was secretly relieved to think Caesar had taken her son for a lover - it lessened the jealousy over Servilia, if only for a moment; Despite everything, she has no regrets about anything she's ever done - and if she does, she would never dare show them.

b) Dispatching Octavia's first husband.

c) The pwnage of Livia at the end. I mean, how much more awesome can you get? Besides getting to screw Antony senseless.

d) Never was manipulated by another. Never relied on anyone but herself first and foremost. Never stopped thinking of her children, even if they couldn't appreciate all she did for them. Never respected another opponent more than Servilia. Never stopped loving Antony.

She truly was incredible. :)

Oh, why not Cicero?

[identity profile] artyartie.livejournal.com 2007-12-04 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Here goes!

Rome!Cicero:
a) Right before he was killed, he tried to comfort himself that he had done everything he could to save the Republic. But he died with so many regrets at the last moment, death seemed like a welcome release; After returning home from the events in 'Caesarion,' he was utterly ashamed of what Antony's touch, as cruel as it was, made him feel; If Cicero had a daemon, it would be a goose.

b) His batboy!secretary.

c) As much as I loved all of Season 2, his death scene in Pilippi still just wins everything. I mean, gah. Historically inaccurate and all but I loved it.

d) He never stopped wondering if surrendering to Caesar was the best choice; He never could have stuck a blade in Caesar, personally, though not because of any love for the man; He never though Antony or Octavian could outmanuever him; He never thought of himself as anything but a hero, albeit a tragic one; He never allowed himself to realize just how dear Brutus was to him until it was too late.

Bea Slocum.

And Wesley Wyndham-Pryce.

Eeek, no personal fanon on Wes, so I hope Bea is okay!

a) Isn't an orphan, strictly speaking, as is everyone else in the series, but thinks her parents are as good as dead to her; There's a very good reason her accent changes, and why it betrays nothing of who she was; She isn't afraid to ask Melrose the questions no one else can bring themselves to ask him.

b) Her disappearance after the Lamorna Wink!

c) She loves Melrose - she never said it, exactly, in the books, but I know she loves him.

d) *resists the urge to type out "she never vanished!" five times* She never thought twice about her last boyfriend. Sh never thought the Cripps were beneath her. She never questioned Melrose would make a good father if he wanted to be one. She never was attracted to Jury. And she never, ever, ever leaves.

Hmmm... let's see... how about Nakuru? ^_^ What can I say, your icon is inspirational.

[identity profile] artyartie.livejournal.com 2007-12-04 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yay, Nakuru! I admit, CCS has been on my brain with the challenge.

a) She hates being underground - both a combination of being in her brother's 'element' and being taken away from the moon and the air; She loves London, and all its history, but has enough restraint not to ask Eriol to tell her all of Clow's memories of it; She sees Kaho eventually like a sister, though at times she can't help but feel the attraction between creator and created.

b) You can't help but wonder if she would have stolen Touya's magic if she could have.

c) I think she has something similar to Sakura's invincible spell, only she'd be willing to hurt a few people so that everything would be all right!

d) She never ended up bitter over Touya's love life. She never stopped teasing Suppi, even when he realized she did it because she cared. She never doubted the depths she could go to save the people she loved. She never could bake quite as well as Eriol, but she always tried. She never ended up alone.

I have a definite soft spot for Nakuru, in spite of the fact that the girl who introduced me to the series is a die-hard Touya-Yuki shipper and is a bit bitter towards Nakuru's actions early in the second arc. I like what you have to say about her and I'm thinking I'm going to have to make sure to give her at least a little time in my fic (which I can't wait to get back to once I'm through with this lab report!!!).

List your fandoms please?

[identity profile] artyartie.livejournal.com 2007-12-04 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Rome and CCS are the first that come to mind - did you have a specific one in mind I might know?

[identity profile] cal-reflector.livejournal.com 2007-12-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no, I've asked you about Sonomi before (you couldn't find anything bad to say about her), and was wondering whether we had any overlapping interests besides Rome and CCS... British generals? How about historical military men in general?

Oh bugger it; Agrippa.

I'll go with Brutus. :D

Captain Pellew! (The Hornblower version, not the historical one.)
