I had a nasty little headache earlier this evening, including some fun photosensitivity, but it's finally gone. However, the pills I took have caffeine, and I had to take five to make the damn thing go away, so I'm not terribly tired at the moment. So I mayed the best of my alertness to watch the last two episodes of Spooks. Comments on the episodes behind the cut.
1.05 - I think this was one of the best episodes of the season. It was an excellent mixture of intrigue and humor, and I love the 'relationship' between MI-5 and 6. Okay, mostly I love Hugh Laurie as Jools Siviter. The snark is just delicious, and the twist at the end with the CIA operative - Spooks is just absolutely brilliant. I have a feeling next season we may hear from Tessa yet, given how utterly ruthless she is here. Also, I loved Zoe and Danny pouring vodka from the tea kettle! But Ellie still grated my nerves in this episode - she comes off as so whiny I don't have much sympathy for her - but then...
1.06 - I have Season 2 waiting for me at the library - if I didn't, I would be going mad. For as much as Ellie bugs me, that last scene is just wrenching - I think I got a bit teary-eyed, which for me is saying quite a lot. Tessa is far more ruthless than I thought, even in the last episode, and after this ep I just love Zoe even more. Sadly, doing some research on IMDB, it looks like there's a huge cast change in Season 3, which may be a little hard to adjust to.
