I'm not religious because of issues like this. What happened to compassion and understanding? Why is there so much hate? I would much rather see happy gay or lesbian couples than heterosexual couples who abuse and hurt each other.

I join you in your anger against the extreme religious right. It's ironic that the scandals that have cropped up recently have involved some of these "righteous" people.
